My first blog! I suppose I should start by explaining my reason for starting this record of my thoughts and feelings on being a Christian Mum...
When you first have a baby you are bombarded by a whole range of books, internet sites, advice from parents and friends, the NHS etc on how you should look after your baby. Right from the start I had to make important decisions about Chloe and everyone had an opinion! An hour after Chloe was born I had to have surgery and my husband and I had to decide whether we would wait to breast-feed her or give her a bottle whilst I was away. These decisions can be easy, based on your values as a parent, but often there is a constant internal debate as to what is the right choice.
So this is a blog about my journey through being a new mum and the decisions and choices I make. I hope that it will be helpful for other mums and will, at least, show that moments of self-doubt and low confidence happen to everyone.
The other aspect of this blog is my life as a committed Christian and how this impacts on my (and my husband's) parenting. It is fundamental to our family that our faith goes hand-in-hand with every decision we make and the values we build into Chloe. I hope that I will meet other like-minded parents who are undertaking the challenge of godly parenting as well.
Thank you for reading!
